J.Lo to Design New Teen Collection by: Kim Wilson
Now teenage fans of pop princess, actress and fashion designer Jennifer Lopez can get the Latina sensation's look.
Lopez's Sweetface Fashion Company, which is a joint venture with Tommy Hilfiger's brother Andy, and Larry Stemmerman, has signed a licensing deal with Parigi Group Ltd. to manufacture, market and sell a range of hip clothing for the teen and pre-teen markets.
The J.Lo Girls Collection, expected to launch in March 2002, will consist of sportswear "inspired by the fashions of Jennifer Lopez," according to a company statement.
"I'm really excited that the J.Lo brand will be expanding into the girls market. So many of my fans are young girls and it is important to me that we target this extremely influential age group," said Lopez, who is creative director for the brand.
The J.Lo Girls Collection adds a new facet to the rapidly growing J.Lo collection, which includes womenswear and swimwear. The Girls Collections will include novelty tops, shorts, skirts, denim sportswear jackets, jeans and dresses.
